ABOUT THE ROLE

Join Fever’s growing legal team at our vibrant hub in Madrid! This role focuses on supporting the global expansion of our business including implementation of cutting-edge payment technologies, cashless payments, digital credit systems, and onsite payment solutions.

As a Legal Counsel focussing on payment solutions, you will report to the Principal Counsel - Commercial Contracting, acting as a subject matter expert and trusted advisor on payment and financial regulations in markets around the world. You will work with Fever’s business teams, vendors, financial institutions and other players in the market, to assist in the creation of compliant products and solutions that align with financial regulations.

 

You will:

Provide actionable business and product advice on regulatory and compliance matters related to payment systems across various jurisdictions, including researching and understanding financial and data protection regulations.

  • Demonstrate project administration skills in the design and implementation of financial regulation-compliant tech products.
  • Support Fever’s global expansion efforts, particularly around cashless payment solutions and digital credit systems.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate key commercial contracts and terms with vendors, event operators, and technology partners.
  • Assist commercial and operations teams with POS structures, merchant reconciliation processes, and local vendor relationships.
  • Coordinate with external legal advisors  as needed.
  • Provide general commercial legal advice on contracts, partnerships, and operational issues.
  • Participate in knowledge management, including creating templates and legal guides.
  • Participate in upskilling, support, and growth of other team members.

 

ABOUT YOU

In order to be successful in this role, you will:

Be a barred/practicing lawyer with at least 5+ years PQE  including inhouse — experience in a fintech environment preferred.Demonstrate experience advising on payment systems, merchant services, fintech regulations, or similar areas.

  • Professionally fluent in English. Fluency in additional languages (including Spanish, French, Portuguese, German) is a plus.
  • Have a keen eye for understanding strategic pain points, operational and UX prioritization, and an ability to align legal advice with business goals.
  • Show proactivity, adaptability, and a hands-on mindset in fast-paced environments.
  • Be an effective communicator who thrives in global, cross-functional teams.
