Established in 2006, Fitness Passport is a corporate health and fitness program providing its members and their families with access to a wide choice of fitness facilities. We work with the public sector, corporate employers and leading fitness facilities across Australia and New Zealand.
With aggressive growth plans to achieve, Fitness Passport is executing an ambitious strategy and bringing the legal function in-house.
About you
You thrive in an environment where you can lead the way shaping legal framework and establishing a legal function within the business. With technical understanding you can leverage solutions to enhance efficiency within the contracts space.
The role
- Draft, review, negotiate, and manage a wide variety of commercial agreements.
- Provide strategic legal advice to stakeholders, ensuring the company operates within regulatory and compliance frameworks.
- Identify and implement emerging legal technologies to streamline contract lifecycle management and other legal processes.
- Identify and mitigate legal risks across the business while providing proactive recommendations.
- Develop and maintain internal legal policies, templates, and guidelines to support business operations.
- Work closely with teams across the business to ensure alignment with legal requirements and objectives as well as external counsel and investors.
- Monitor legislative changes and ensure the business remains compliant with relevant laws and regulations, strong focus on ESG.
- Assist with the resolution of disputes and claims, working with external counsel where required.
What we’re looking for

Qualifications: Law degree with admission to practice law in Australia

Minimum 5 years post-qualification experience, ideally in corporate/commercial law or in-house roles.
- Proven experience in contract drafting, review, and management, with a strong attention to detail.
- Knowledge of and experience with legal technology tools (e.g., contract lifecycle management systems, e-signature platforms).
- Exceptional ability to explain complex legal concepts in plain language to non-legal stakeholders.
- A proactive, business-oriented approach to legal problem-solving.
- Strong ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
