Position Overview:

We are looking for an experienced Associate General Counsel to provide strategic legal support and guidance to our organization. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated attorney to advance their career in the in-house counsel path within the insurance industry. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in insurance law and a proven track record of working with insurance companies or clients in the Insurance & Financial Services sector.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert legal advice and counsel on a variety of insurance-related matters, including regulatory compliance, claims, underwriting, and policy development.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of contracts, agreements, and other legal documents.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis to ensure compliance with state and federal laws and regulations.
  • Assist in the management of litigation and dispute resolution, working closely with external counsel as needed.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to develop and implement company policies and procedures.
  • Stay current on industry trends, legal developments, and regulatory changes impacting the insurance sector.
  • Support senior leadership with strategic legal advice to facilitate business growth and mitigate risk.
  • Participate in special projects and initiatives as required.


Qualifications:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the state bar and in good standing.
  • 3-7 years of experience as an attorney, with a focus on insurance law.
  • Prior experience working for an insurance company or with clients in the Insurance & Financial Services industry is essential.
  • Strong knowledge of state and federal insurance laws and regulations.
  • Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • High level of professionalism, integrity, and ethical judgment.
