RGC, Regional General Counsel Europe

Role

You will be Senior Legal Counsel within the ArcelorMittal Group Legal & Compliance organization and the legal business partner to the Europe based subsidiaries of the ArcelorMittal Downstream Solutions segment, AMDS. You will take the important legal advisory role to advise the AMDS segment, its Business Units and companies in the broad spectrum of their industrial, commercial and growth operations.

You will provide advice and guidance on a variety of legal matters across a range of business environments in France, Belgium, Germany, Spain, Poland, Luxemburg, the Netherlands and beyond Europe.

You will work as a generalist SLC and will be able to work on business contract negotiation and drafting, whether relating to sales, business development, investment projects, partnerships and JVs, etc. requiring knowledge of several legal areas including contract law, commercial law, corporate law etc.

You will align your legal actions with the RGC Europe and European country legal teams who advise the AMDS BUs in their respective country scope. You will contribute to synergies of the European legal organization by developing legal trainings, template of agreements and by the launch of new legal knowledge exchange and digitization initiatives.

Responsibilities

Specific accountabilities and responsibilities include:

• Primarily acting as trusted senior legal advisor in AMDS segment in Europe, with a focus on the international activity of the business units Industeel and ArcelorMittal Projects and of the multiple other BUs in AMDS such as the newly developed scrap-recycling business
• Advising on a wide variety of commercial and corporate matters, with a particular focus on the areas described above.

Competencies

• 7 to 12 years of work experience on a wide-range of legal matters in the area of commercial and corporate law, contract law, partnerships and JVs, investments,
• Experience in an (inter)national law firm or (international) company is a prerequisite.
• Fluent in English and French. Dutch is a plus

Education 

Master’s degree in either Luxemburg, French, German, Belgian, Spanish or Polish Law.

Travel

The position will be located in Luxemburg but you will travel from time to time in France, Belgium, Germany, Spain, Poland, the Netherlands.
