The Head Legal & Compliance Croatia and Slovenia Commercial Operations will drive legal and compliance excellence at country level for commercial organization, through directly leading and supervising legal and compliance work and guidance in alignment with the strategy of the local business and the functional Legal & Compliance priorities.

Major accountabilities:
- Adopt a pro-active, business focused approach by:
- Serving as single point of contact for all Legal & Compliance tasks in Croatia and Slovenia Commercial Operations, incl. coordinating data privacy, antitrust, etc. topics with Global Leads and Teams
- Providing Legal & Compliance advice and determining appropriate actions/ processes in line with local strategy, local legal trends, legislation changes (marketing, tender, sales, launches, customer-facing activities, regulatory)
- Managing matters and litigation for commercial organization (Legislative matters, anti-bribery, unfair competition and anti-trust, P&O, liabilities, etc.)
- Negotiating, drafting and management of commercial agreements (focusing on sell side)
- Managing local Corporate topics in Croatia in alignment with global team and local management
- Legal & Compliance reporting, monitoring & training, incl. transparency reporting, dawn-raid training
- Support of P3, CoI, RAM, ERM, audits, TPRM, contract management, etc.
- As a member of the Country Commercial Leadership Team, pro-actively contribute to strategy and business discussions, decisions, and outcomes.
- Consistently explore opportunities to improve and strengthen the culture of compliance, looking for ways of addressing risks in an efficient and agile manner.
- Support investigations conducted by Authorities, Corporate Security and Speak-Up for commercial organization on legal and compliance issues.
- Build a highly skilled legal and compliance function. Support knowledge sharing and talent exchange beyond the country and cluster.
- Build and review commercial country needs outside counsel panels, manage outside counsel to budget.
Key performance indicators:
- Provide problem solving, business oriented legal advice; to be assessed with appropriate customer feedback.
- Compliance with reporting obligations.
- Setting priorities and managing a wide-ranging work load.
Minimum Requirements:
- Law school graduate (from European university)
- Fluency in English essential; Knowledge of at least one other language preferred.
- Minimum [5+ years post qualification experience required: ideally gained within a healthcare / pharmaceutical environment, and/or, with a top-tier law firm representing healthcare & technology clients.
- Experience in managing Legal & Compliance teams, work and projects
- Ability to analyse complex legal and compliance issues.
- Strong verbal & written communication skills; together with a high ability to influence and negotiate.
- Proven ability to deal positively when working within tight time pressures & demanding clients.
- Financial/business acumen and business partnering skills
- Demonstrate professional & culturally sensitive work ethics
