Associate General Counsel, Logistics, Long Beach

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Associate General Counsel to join our legal team. In this role, you will serve as a key legal advisor to the company and its affiliates worldwide, providing strategic legal counsel and supporting the company's growth and success.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide legal advice and counsel on a wide range of legal matters, including contract law, corporate governance, employment law, and regulatory compliance.
• Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of legal agreements, including customer contracts, vendor agreements, and service agreements.
• Manage litigation matters, including overseeing outside counsel and coordinating legal strategies.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations, including transportation regulations and maritime law.
• Advise on the legal implications of business decisions and develop strategies to mitigate legal risks.
• Represent the company in legal proceedings and negotiations as needed.
• Stay current on legal and regulatory developments that impact the company's business.

Qualifications:

• Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school in the U.S.
• Active member of the State Bar in the U.S.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in the transportation/logistics industry.
• Experience in maritime law is strongly preferred.
• Strong understanding of contract law, corporate law, and employment law.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite.
